Mom called me this evening, another round of bad news. They are sending her home. They told her that the surgery would be too complicated right now and that it COULD do more harm than good, so they aren't going to do it. They also said they don't think the aneurysms are causing the headaches, they think it's migranes. She is to have an angeogram done every 3 months, so they can moniter her condition and if something happens, like they grow or bleed or burst, then they may be able to do something. Until then, we are stuck again. Hit me with ideas, who I can talk to... I think we need another doctor's opinion. Not that I don't believe this guy knows what he's talking about, I just think that some people approach a problem differently and sometimes have other solutions. Anyway, I'll keep everyone posted, and I'm sure she will be excited to talk to everyone tomorrow!!!

I talked to my dad on the phone just a minute ago. The hospital in Galveston did another angeogram, and shortly after being taken back to her room (in ICU) the resident doctor told her they would probably schedule the surgery for tomorrow. Everything was a "go" until a few minutes later, when the primary physician informed her that they would NOT be doing surgery. He said that they only do one of the procedures she needs, and because they don't do both, he's not doing anything. He wants her to come back to Galveston every 3 months for tests until the surgery can be done. Mom was so upset, she told them to unhook her from the monitors, they were fixing to head back home again. Nurse Anne called as they were waiting on the release papers, and convinced her to stay overnight, while she and her boss, Dr. Marc, contact the hospital administration. From what I understand, because that hospital is STATE FUNDED, they should have to pay for the surgery to be done, even if they have to go to the hospital in Houston. They will not know anything more until after 8am tomorrow, when the right people will be there. But for now, we are at yet ANOTHER BRICK WALL... Everyone please continue to spread this website and send me your stories.

I have not heard from Mom yet, Nurse Anne is calling as I am typing this, to see if she was admitted or what is going on. I will update again as soon as I hear back from her.

Mom left for Galveston today. She is supposed to call tomorrow, when she knows something. Kelley will be staying in Abilene until Monday, when she is scheduled to start the new job. The site will still be updated, so please continue to visit! Now, EVERYONE PRAY, because this surgery is very risky. But with the world praying for her, she'll do fine. Keep the faith!!!!

Mom didn't feel very well, so we went to the local emergency room. She was given medication for her headache and nausea and sent home, told only to follow up with the programs she has been trying to enroll in, and that surgery needs to be done soon.
